Archers.io starts you off alone: one archer, one bow, and an arena full of rivals who want your territory. Every arrow matters. Shots travel in an arc, so range and timing count for as much as aim, and a missed volley leaves you exposed while you nock the next arrow. Scattered around the battlefield are wandering fighters who can be recruited — walk near them and they join your band, turning a lone sniper into a moving wall of bowmen.
The genius of the game is how your army changes your tactics. A small squad is fast and easy to steer through gaps; a large one fires devastating volleys but turns slowly and makes a bigger target. Positioning decides most fights — catching an enemy group against an obstacle or firing from higher ground routinely beats raw numbers. Matches are quick and losses sting just enough to make you queue straight back in with a better plan.
Move your archer with the joystick on mobile or the mouse and WASD keys on desktop. Your archers fire automatically at enemies in range, so your real job is positioning: close distance to threaten, back off to survive, and swing around obstacles to catch enemies in the open.
Grow your force by walking over neutral allies scattered across the map. The match is won by outlasting and outgunning the other squads — protect your soldiers, because your volley strength drops with every archer you lose.
You battle other squads in a shared arena format, with matches designed to stay fast and fair even on slower connections, so every round feels like a live skirmish.
Walk close to the neutral fighters standing around the map. They join you automatically and start firing alongside you immediately.
Arrows take time to travel. Aim slightly ahead of a moving target — leading your shots is the single biggest skill jump in the game.
